In Komi, police officers from Sosnogorsk summoned Ivan Ivanov, the Save Pechora Committee’s chairman, to come to the police department on May 30. A protocol on misuse of freedom of the mass media will be drawn up against him (Part 9 of Article 13.15 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation). On February 26, the committee members demanded that President Vladimir Putin stop the special operation in Ukraine, because it was impossible to protect social and environmental human rights under [Roskomnadzor] conditions.

The Center for Combating Extremism in Syktyvkar found the ecologists' post on vk.com. Ivanov faces a fine of up to 100 thousand rubles. According to him, other committee members who signed the appeal did not get such notifications from the police.

The Save Pechora Committee’s activists have been protecting nature on the territory of cities and towns where the population of the Pechora basin lives since 1989. Their organization is "socio-ecological", because problems with the preservation of the environment generate conflicts in society.

In 2021, activists identified a major oil contamination on the Kolva River 400 km from the site of the oil spill caused by the LUKOIL-Komi Company. They conducted a study and suggested that the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage (Rosprirodnadzor) could have underreported the amount of damage to nature from the accident.
