On December 25, the Ussuriysk District Court ruled to replace Alexander Gabyshev’s confinement in a specialized psychiatric hospital with treatment in a general facility.

According to Alexey Pryanishnikov, the Primorsky Krai Court approved easing Gabyshev’s treatment as far back as early 2023. However, the prosecutor’s office contested the decision, and the court initially sided with the prosecution.

Yakut shaman Alexander Gabyshev gained widespread attention in 2019 when he set out on foot to Moscow to "drive Putin away."В He was detained by security forces and charged with inciting extremism and using violence against Rosgvardia officers. In January 2021, a medical commission declared Gabyshev legally insane. Pryanishnikov stated that doctors treated Gabyshev with haloperidol, a powerful antipsychotic drug that can cause motor disorders and other adverse effects when administered to a healthy individual.
