Lyudmila Navalnaya urged Vladimir Putin to hand over the body of her deceased son. She recorded a video in front of the penal colony #3, where Alexey Navalny died on February 16.

'It’s been 5 days since I haven’t been able to see him. They don’t hand his body over to me and don’t even tell me where it is. I am addressing you, Vladimir Putin, since the resolution of the issue hangs on you. Let me finally see my son,' pleaded the politician’s mother.

Navalny’s close ones filed a lawsuit in the Salekhard court regarding the investigators' inaction in handing over the body. Previously, investigators claimed that they would not grant access to the body until they completed 'a chemical examination.'

The Federal Penitentiary Service for the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug has not yet disclosed the cause of Navalny’s death. The penal colony staff told Navalny’s mothers and his lawyers that the politician fell victim to the 'sudden death syndrome.' Lyudmila Navalnaya was not allowed into the Salekhard morgue.
