On November 27, activists came to the monument to the victims of political repression, laid bread, lit lamps in memory of those who died during the Holodomor and also pasted up a leaflet with a historical note about the events of that period.
"It is customary in Ukraine to commemorate the Holodomor’s victims every fourth Saturday of November, and today we also decided to pay respect to the victims of the collectivization that took place throughout the Soviet Union," said activist Svetlana Marina. "According to approximate data, 240 thousand people died from hunger and harsh conditions during that period."
Together with Marina, activists who held posters took part in the rally. One of them mentioned the Memorial* Human Rights Organization. On November 11, the Prosecutor General's Office demanded annihilating the organization. Activists of Kirov opposed this demand and held a picket at the monument to Lenin.
