Security forces conducted the search at 7 a.m. on December 23, presenting a warrant and "turning the home upside down,"В according to Daniil Chebykin. He stated that he does not know which agency initiated the search or the reason behind it. In November, he requested a certificate of no criminal record, which did not indicate any charges against him.

During the search, Chebykin’s parents were questioned about his activities and whereabouts. Their phones were inspected, but nothing was confiscated. The activist noted that his parents were "a bit shocked and confused about what the security forces wanted from them."

Chebykin himself has not lived in that apartment for about seven years. He believes the search is connected to the Omsk Civic Association being classified as an extremist organization in June 2024, which led to its liquidation.

The association’s co-founders — Chebykin, Richard King, and Nikolay Rodkin — were previously fined for failing to meet the obligations of foreign agents. None of them currently resides in Russia. In July, police unilaterally invalidated their internal passports, marking one of the first instances of such action.
