Vladimir Uyba has filed a request with the Vorkuta City Council to consider the issue of early termination of deputy Vladimir Zharuk’s powers. The Head of the Komi Republic’s statement says that Zharuk provided "incorrect information" in his income and asset declarations, having violated the anti-corruption legislation.

According to Vladimir Zharuk, he did not commit any corrupt acts, but made some errors when filling out documentation. For example, he did not mention the payment of 5 thousand rubles to his wife, who supervised a student’s practice at the kindergarten where she works, and the amount of utility bills reimbursement for rural teachers. The deputy added that he had to fill out the declaration for the first time, which had caused him some difficulties.

Vladimir Zharuk believes that Uyba's demand is connected with his intense public activity and long-term advocacy of the rights of immigrants. According to the deputy, his opponents from the United Russia Party have repeatedly filed appeals against him with law enforcement agencies.

"Uyba and I met when I was not a deputy yet. Moreover, he used to solve problems. He helped me when I told him that we had one ambulance for almost 10 thousand people in Vorgashor [a settlement in Komi]. There are two ambulance cars there now. It happened when he joined the United Russia Party. We have a majority of them in the City Council. They vote as they are told to. United Russia is the worst thing I have seen in my life," commented Vladimir Zharuk.

He told 7x7 that he was not holding onto the deputy's post. If he is unseated, he will continue his public activities, in particular, helping pensioners and disabled people to seek the right to relocate from the North.

There was a similar situation in Arkhangelsk Oblast. Governor Alexander Tsybulsky asked the assembly of deputies of the Kargopol District to remove deputy Radik Adnobayev from office early. After his colleagues refused to vote for Tsybulsky's proposal, the Arkhangelsk prosecutor's office filed a corresponding lawsuit.

A violation of the anti-corruption legislation, namely errors in filling out the declaration, was the reason for the unseating. According to the social activist, he forgot to fill out a certificate of his wife's income for 2020. The deputy's associates claim that the regional administration wanted to use a formal reason to get rid of the independent deputy. Radik Adnobayev participated in conflicts with construction site guards during anti-garbage protests at Shies in May 2019.
