In October 2018, transport police detained pensioner Viktor Keichel at the Syktyvkar railway station. According to the police, the pensioner insulted him. Keichel himself claims that, on the contrary, the policeman insulted him.
Victor Keichel was taken to this court session by court enforcement officers because he did not appear in court on December 13. The pensioner was charged under Article 319 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Insult of a Representative of the Authority). The prosecution asked to impose a fine of 10 thousand rubles. The court granted the Prosecutor's request.
According to Keichel, the court adhered to the «accusatory tendency»:
— I don't see why they didn't call witnesses to prove my innocence. The case file stated that "there was no possibility."
As Vitaly Dergachev, the chief of the railway station, claimed, passengers complained of the pensioner. According to Dergachev, Keichel "created discomfort" by actually living at the station. "He is a polite, literate person. He never drank or smoke, so there were no reasons to expel him at first, - the chief of the station told the correspondent 7x7. - Social workers repeatedly came to him, but he refused their help."
In October 2019, in Syktyvkar, judge of the Ezhva District Court Lyudmila Igusheva found seriously ill pensioner Vladimir Baev guilty of extremism for posts in social networks and gave him 10 months of suspended jail sentence.
