Vladimir Zharikov, the head of the Ethics Commission of the Komi State Council, announced Victor Vorobyov's resignation. During the session, deputies mentioned that he was abroad.

Vorobyov stated on Facebook* that he had submitted his resignation back in February. He missed the last few sessions due to family circumstances. Vorobyov also added that he would not leave Russia or relinquish his mandate.

Deputy Ekaterina Dyachkova will continue to serve as the acting leader of the CPRF faction. Dyachkova is known for advocating the right to deliver speeches in the Komi language during sessions.

Victor Vorobyov became the first deputy in Russia to be labeled as a foreign agent. The Ministry of Justice included him in their register on April 1. Following this, the deputies of the Komi State Council suggested banning individuals recognized as foreign agents from holding government positions. In 2023, Vorobyov was fined for an anti-war video message and for failing to mention his foreign agent status in appeals to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the prosecutor’s office.
