Almost 10 million rubles will be spent on territorial defense in the Pskov region. At least 1 thousand people will take part in territorial formations. By 2024, the personnel will reach 1.1 thousand people. This follows from the data of the state program.

Governors of several subjects of the Russian Federation have been working on territorial defense, or self-defense since 2022. They explain this by the need to "be ready to defend their land" against threats from Ukraine and NATO. Currently, five regions have territorial defense forces: Belgorod, Kursk, Voronezh, Pskov, and Oryol. The authorities of the Belgorod region claimed that they had spent 400 million rubles (4,224,356) on local defense.
