Various radio stations in several regions sent an air-raid alert signal. People were warned of the threat of a missile strike and asked to go to shelters. The signal was heard in the Belgorod, Tyumen, Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk, and Moscow regions, Stavropol Krai, and Bashkortostan.

Russian Emergencies Ministry reported a hacker attack on radio servers. In Voronezh, it was called "a provocation by accomplices of the Kyiv regime.” The authorities of the Belgorod Region explained the incident as a hacker attack "from the Ukrainian side" in order to "spread panic among peaceful people of Belgorod.”

In January, federal television channels in some regions aired an address by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. The Belgorod authorities said that "there was an unauthorized replacement of the TV signal from a satellite". Oleg Kryuchkov, an advisor to the head of Crimea, accused Ukrainian hackers of interference.
