Detentions related to organizing and recruiting for an extremist community took place in Saint Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk Krai, as well as in Moscow, Irkutsk, and Arkhangelsk regions. Law enforcers have not disclosed the exact number of detainees.

According to a Kommersant source, the investigation involves a community known as Àíòè Ïûòêè ("Against Torture"), which allegedly used the ideology of the AUE movement—prohibited in Russia—to incite certain inmates to assault others in hospital wards.

Mediazona suggests that Kommersant is likely referring to the Anti Pytki project. Established in 2021 with the support of human rights advocates from Gulagu.net, the project publishes posts and videos about cases of torture in detention facilities and individuals who perpetrate violence against prisoners and detainees.
