“The feeling of arbitrariness and insecurity is a reality for a huge number of people, wherever they deal with the state. Help should be available to citizens throughout the country, not just in Moscow and St. Petersburg,” the project’s description says.

The MHG and its partners’ map provides all information about 40 public human rights reception centers in Yaroslavl, Cheboksary, Khabarovsk, Novosibirsk, Yoshkar-Ola, Ryazan, Voronezh, and other cities, so that residents of the regions know whom to contact if they need help. Each reception’s description shows its focus areas and contacts. Sorting by region and subject and a table with a complete list of organizations are available on the page.

Anyone who wants to add their reception or clarify information on one of the already hosted organizations can contact the MHG by email: [email protected].

The Moscow Helsinki Group is the oldest human rights organization; it was established in 1976. It is engaged in identifying violations of human rights and taking measures to achieve compliance with international human rights obligations assumed by the Russian Federation. The organization seeks to promote the strengthening of control over the activities of the authorities by civil organizations and human rights advocates.
