The court released the Chita resident, who was facing charges of attempted murder and robbery. The new legislation, signed by Vladimir Putin on October 2, allows mobilized soldiers and contract servicemen to avoid criminal prosecution during judicial proceedings. In this case, the head of a military recruitment office vouched for the defendant by filing a petition to suspend the criminal case. The man was handed over to a representative of the Ministry of Defense, despite protests from the victim.

This is the first known instance of the law being applied.

According to information obtained by "7x7," the man’s name is Alexey Patrushev, and he fought in Ukraine as part of Wagner PMC. He was on trial for an incident in April 2024 when, while intoxicated, he attacked a woman in a parked car. Patrushev stabbed her several times in the chest, abdomen, arms, and legs. The victim managed to survive by grabbing the knife from him and pushing him away.

In 2014, Alexey Patrushev was sentenced to 22 years in prison for the murder of two people, rape, and attempted murder. He attacked a homeowner during a party after taking offense and later raped the homeowner’s partner.

Ten days later, Patrushev murdered an elderly couple and, according to the initial investigation, raped another woman, who was 79 years old. He was later acquitted of one of the rape charges and sought 1 million rubles in compensation.

Patrushev was pardoned after participating in the war.
