LGBT opponents have filed more than 200 appeals with law enforcement agencies with a request to open a new criminal case for pornography distribution against Yulia Tsvetkova. In July, the activist from Komsomolsk-on-Amur was acquitted in a criminal case of child pornography. The regional Juvenile Affairs Unit called the applicants in for questioning in order to use their information "as evidence".

As Tsvetkova's supporters noted, the Juvenile Affairs Unit’s head acted as a witness for the prosecution in court. In 2019, it was the Juvenile Affairs Unit that saw pornography in Tsvetkova's Zhenshchina — ne Kukla (‘A Woman is not a Doll’) Project with drawings of women's bodies.

In the first criminal case, the artist was accused of pornography production and distribution for drawings in the Monologi Vaginy Community. The state prosecution asked to sentence her to three years and two months in a penal colony, but the court acquitted the young woman. The prosecutor's office appealed the court's decision.
