To participate in the festival, you need to sign up here or set up a notification on YouTube (the first day of the festival, the second day of the festival). You can watch speakers' performances on the Moscow FemFest’s Facebook page. Participants can check out the projects that were shortlisted for the competition of the Moscow FemFest 2020. They are dedicated to women’s safety in Russia.
Experts and participants will discuss how to overcome imposter syndrome, how a woman can fulfil her potential in politics, and why modern society is afraid of vaginas. One of the topics will be whether harassment is a global problem or a "global manipulation". The Odnoklassniki Social Network will hold a roundtable discussion on how women can find a job during a crisis: experts will give advice and recommendations.
— Our goal is gender literacy in Russia. The more people see how the gender system works and how it shapes thinking, the more people will be able to act from a position of conscious choice, — founder and organizer of the festival Irina Izotova believes.
President of Women Against Violence Europe Marcella Pirrone, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation in Russia Aleshka Simkich, founder of the Belarusian Gender Route Project Irina Solomatina, State Duma Deputy Oksana Pushkina, public figure Alyona Popova, and other leadВ gender issues experts are going to speak at the conference.
Despite the online mode, organizers decided to keep the participants' live communication. An application with thematic chats, contests from partners, and a book market has been developed for this.
— It seems very important to us not to give up the idea of holding the festival in 2020 because of the pandemic: according to many observers, it is women who have suffered more from the crisis caused by it, and it is very important now not to silence the problems that we have faced, — organizer of the festival Lola Tagayeva explained.
The EU Delegation in Russia is the title partner of the Moscow FemFest for the first time. Learn more about the festival program on its website.
