The contest will be held on Instagram from November 24 to December 13. To participate in it, you need to tell about your three or five main eco-friendly lifestyle rules and supply the post with the hashtag #MyEcoRules and creative photos or videos. Choosing local products, avoiding private transport, buying green cosmetics, replacing disposable plastic bags with reusable shoppers, consuming electricity rationally are just some of the useful habits that can easily become regular.

Irena Ponaroshku, a journalist, blogger and eco-activist, became the contest’s ambassador. She participates in green initiatives, advocates mindful consumption and environmental protection, hosts a section on healthy lifestyle on the Vecherny Urgant TV Show.

"#MyEcoRules contest organized by the Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy in Moscow inspires each of us to become more responsible towards the planet and change our everyday habits to reduce our personal carbon footprint. I encourage everyone to participate and fight for some great prizes!", Irena Ponaroshku said.

The journalist will present one of the winners with a set of the Avocado Box Organic Cosmetics. The awards include an electric scooter and a course on the basics of video editing from Skillbox. The contest partner, +1Gorod, will give three additional prizes for a special nomination, Novice Environmentalist: 500 loyalty points, which can be further spent on useful gifts from sustainable brands, for each winner. The contest's winners will be chosen by the jury, which will include the organizers and partners of the contest, as well as ecology experts.

The branch of the Greenpeace International Non-Profit Organization in Russia, the Skillbox International Educational Platform, the +1Gorod Interactive Assistant for a Sustainable Lifestyle and the 7x7 Online Newspaper became the project's partners.

The contest is organized to support the results of the UN Climate Conference, which finished in Glasgow in early November. During the event, the participants reached a number of important agreements that leave chances to keep the global average temperature growth within a 1.5 °C limit. Thanks to the efforts of the UK, the countries agreed to gradually reduce their dependence on coal and other fossil fuels for the first time.

The contest is held only for residents of Russia. The full terms and conditions of participation can be found on the contest’s website.

The 7x7 Online Media Outlet is a partner of major projects and organizer of its own contests. For example, you can apply for Mediaburger, a contest for journalists under 25 years, until December 10. The authors' materials will be estimated by the editors of leading Russian media. The winner will get useful prizes for work, financial support for starting their projects and an invitation to a three-day workshop in Syktyvkar.
