On May 9, Anastasia Korshunova was detained while picketing with a poster that read, "Peace to Ukraine. Freedom to the Russian Federation. I am against the war!" She was threatened with charges for discrediting the army. However, after completing paperwork on the seizure of the poster at about 10 p.m., she was let go home, Dmitry Khobbotovsky says.
"Perhaps they were worried about publicity, after all, we won in the court once," Korshunova suggested.
The activist took part in a rally in support of Navalny in 2021. She was charged with both participating in and organizing an unauthorized event. On the first charge, the court imposed a fine of 10 thousand rubles ($130) while on the second one she was acquitted.
On May 9, anti-war actions took place in various Russian regions. In Kazan, people brought flowers and leaflets "No to war" to the Eternal Flame in Victory Park. In Cheboksary activists repainted the red flag on Z-graffiti to white-blue-white. Near the Koltsovo military training ground in the Novosibirsk region, yellow and blue stripes were painted on armored personnel carriers.
